D Style Smart Motor Over Travel Options

I wish to use Digital I/O ports 2 and 3 that can be dedicated to left and right travel limits. The limit switches are 24V inductive sensors, PNP, normally closed; i.e. current is flowing and the sensor output is normally at 24V until activated, then the switch within the sensor is opened. One option I have is to use a CBLIO ISO1 series cable but it seems that the logic is the wrong way around for me to connect the sensor output directly to a 24V input. Is this assumption correct?
